Thayer’s Gull

near London, England!

Sometimes when you hear the reports or rumours of Thayer’s Gull being reported in Britain, a twinge of scepticism seems inevitable. Today Steve Arlow sent photos of the ‘Pitsea bird’ errrr- it looks like, exactly what Steve thought on his first view- a cracking adult Thayer’s Gull. From its bill tip to its toes, including its wing tip pattern it seems to fit the bill and tick all the boxes,   –  ‘ave it!

Maybe we will see it on our gull day at Rainham – a good reason to book!
