Golden Oriole

Sticking around

On it’s 4th day now. This morning I watched it from our caravan doorway as it flew up Beacon Lane, Spurn, with a Cuckoo in same binocular view. Very nice! Still don’t know if it’s male or female or how old it is.

in haste – I seem to remember an old birdwatch article which said old fems can be separated from young males by lores – think the fems had dark lores but might have been other way round. I think it was the Portland chaps who wrote it.

Really helpful Jim. I think (maybe) that makes it a 2cy male as suspected though never great views
