Kentish Plover

Lanzarote was all about the pelagic. However there is always more to see. great thing about being abroad is the ‘garden birds’ are often interesting enough. The beach by our apartment complex held this family of Kentish Plovers. A delight!

male Kentish Plover and chick. Doting father. Sometimes the chick would run and hide under dad’s wing (see photo above).

Meanwhile Mum went sun-bathing. Sounds like our typical family holiday. Obviously don’t tell Mrs G I said that ; )
