Opportunities to Discover more…

3 Dates. Bookings being taken now!

The September 3 Day Special is already fully booked.

However there are 3 part day or full day experiences in late August/ September. Which one suits you?

Saturday 27th August is a ‘Discovery Day’. An excellent time of year. Seabirds, waders, migrant small birds and a good chance of something rare. Places limited and bookings already coming in. Late August last year produced 4 Barred Warblers in a day, Citrine Wagtail and Collared Flycatcher. What this time?!

Sunday 28th August is a taster of 4 hours at the optimum time of the day. Booking already being taken. Places very limited to optimise the experience. No large groups. The 4 hours will set you up for the day and maybe the autumn!

Wednesday 14th September is NEW date. This is a mid-week Discovery Day. Booking already being taken for one of the best periods of the year. Anything can happen!

Here’s Ken’s experience of ‘Birding Frontiers’ tour from this spring:

“The opportunity to visit Spurn and experience top-class birding with Martin Garner was one not to miss and the three days did not disappoint.
The group met at our base – the comfortable Westmere Farm run by Andrew and Sue Wells where a hearty breakfast and briefing set the scene for the full and busy days ahead. We were joined by members of the Spurn Bird Observatory whose welcomes, help and hospitality were much appreciated.
For the next three days we were immersed in all aspects of birding: enjoying bird-watching and rarity finding; indulging in the finer points of identification; thrilling to amazing visible migration; and, observing ringing and the work of the bird observatory.   The highlights were many and each of us will have our favourite  – a fine Montagu’s Harrier, Tawny Pipit, Greenland Dunlin, etc..  However, for me, it was seeing a male Quail at very close range – unforgettable.
The three days introduced me to a site that all birders should visit, made me observe more carefully, developed my appreciation of the subtleties of migration and allowed me to simply indulge myself in birding.  Martin is a great leader and teacher, he is full of energy and enthusiasm and ensured that everyone saw the birds.  What a memorable experience – thank you.”
